Felt-O-Rama

I've been stash building lately. No, not a good thing, considering I have enough things stashed away. My recent purchase (not including fabrics!) was this luscious stack of wool-blend felt from Retro Mama:

It's the whole collection, plus a few extra sets for a couple of patterns that I purchased. The colors are so pretty to look at. I kind of don't want to cut into any of them. Can I consider this art? Heh heh! Now my true hoarder self is starting to show!!

Meet Pinky Pie!

Hello there! Yes, it has been a long time. I almost flipped when I realized I've only posted one post thus far. Yikes! And a quarter of the year is almost gone. Holy smokes. Is it just me or is time just flying by? Since I haven't been crafting at all {gulp}, the only thing I can share today is this little critter:

Isn't she a cutie? She was a Valentine's gift from the hubby (thanks, hun!). And her name? Pinky Pie! Named by my 2-year old niece! I was showing it to her one day when she was visiting and I told her, "Look at this pinky octopus," and she blurts out "PINKY PIE!" So Pinky Pie it is! Thanks Izzy! I think it suits her perfectly!! By the way, she is made by Cheek and Stitch ... go find one for yourself!

Belated Christmas Wishes and a Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Our Christmas was spent quietly at home (yes, the hubby and I skipped out of the Kauai holiday drama!). I got a pretty sweet gift from hubby, but I'll save that for another post. And I got this cute ornament for myself:
It's an original ornament by Danita. I love the color; I love the dots. So cute! She will sit on my craft table.

This is a short post, but I just wanted to send out belated Christmas wishes along with a Happy New Year. Here's hoping 2012 will be a great one!!

Need: New Pin Cushion

I spent this past Wednesday babysitting my little niece, Izzy. I had planned to stitch the hair on my raggedy's after I put Izzy to bed. So I packed up my basket of dolls ... bodies, yarn, thread, pin cushion, needles, scissors. Little Izzy went to bed late, so no stitching for me. As I was leaving, I noticed my pin cushion was gone. I must have dropped it as I got out of the car. So I retraced my steps, but no pin cushion (it was late at night and dark).

Anyway, the next morning, I spinned through my sister's neighborhood to see if I could find the pin cushion. Sure enough, Hubby spied it on the rock wall. What was really weird, though, was all the sewing needles were missing! Maybe someone needed it for their sewing kit? Who knows. It rained during the night, so my pin cushion was wet and dirty. Bummers! So that means I need a new pin cushion. I scoured Etsy and found these possibilities:

This one is cool because you can actually store tidbits in the jar!

Simple and cute ... and I love ranunculus.

Sweet love birds.

A cheeseburger! Different, but totally unique!

I'm not sure which one to choose!! I may have to think about it for a day or two. Which would you choose?

Winner, winner!

Me! A winner! Can you believe it? As I was perusing my blog reader, I came upon this post:

Okay, so it's not the greatest image capture, so if you want to see what I saw, click here. When I opened the post and read it ... I gave a little shout and immediately thought, "no ... that must be another Marlene." So I clicked on "Marlene" and surprise, surprise!! It led me to MY blog! Whoot! I won, I won, I won!!

Oh, what did I win? Hahahaha! Well, I've been following Candace's blog, Sparkle Power (her Etsy shop is adorable and she was the Etsy featured seller this week!), for a little while now. And I don't usually enter giveaways, but when I noticed she was sponsoring a giveaway from City Chic Country Mouse ... well, I had to throw in my name. This is a really great Etsy shop and I had stumbled across it a few months ago and immediately fell in love with their ironing board covers. I added this cover to my favorites:

Oh how I love Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane line. Love, love, love! So when I saw the giveaway, I thought I would take a chance. And it totally paid off! I did not think I would win, I never do. So imagine my surprise when I did! Of course I chose the Church Flowers cover. I cannot wait to receive it!! I hope it sparks my creativity. Or at least start to get my craft space spruced up! Ha!

I do have to say that Jamie from City Chic Country Mouse is the greatest! The shop has so many cool things ... ironing board covers, sewing machine covers, just great stuff. Besides the cover above, I really like this sewing machine cover:

Again from the Nicey Jane line! I love the lace trim. So cute. Go browse for yourself and find some goodies! I will be anxiously waiting for my cover and will snap a photo to share!

Where have I been? Cupcake heaven!

It's been forever since I've posted. I have been one lazy blogger! Just work, work, work. Not even crafting. Or cooking! But who can resist Etsy? Not I! Especially when browsing cupcakes! Check out all the cupcake goodness!

Photo credits (top to bottom, left to right):

Bambina ... Can you imagine pulling this out of your purse?
Pinks & Needles ... I need to whip up a pin cushion just for these little gems!
Poppy Chic Designs ... Sweetness for your hair!
KaraEileen ... OMG! I could lick my monitor right about now!
Gifts Define ... Adorable toppers!
BeePart ... Yes, I could get addicted!
Jennys Bake Shop ... I should live by this!
BeePart ... Edgy cupcake with a bit of bling!
City of Dionne ... Who wouldn't want a cupcake in the mail?
Candy Cakes ... Cupcakes in soap form, imagine that!
Rkdsign88 ... Pouring on the sprinkles!
Sea Pinks ... Mint chocolate, yum!

Doesn't this just make you want to head into the kitchen and bake up a batch of cupcakes? Hmm, on second thought, after baking over 100 cupcakes for Addy's wedding, maybe I'll just head over to one of these shops and buy some sweetness? Heck, most of these are calorie free!

Stay tuned for more Etsy finds and maybe a peak into some crafts that I've been toying with! Hopefully my next entry will not take 2 months to get posted ...
